In the last year, Silicon Canal has been hard at work in developing Birmingham’s tech industry into a world class eco-system. In the last twelve months, we have made massive steps forward.
This included publishing a white paper on the challenges faced by technology companies of every level within Birmingham. We have also hosted the first ever annual Tech Awards in Birmingham at Boxxed back in November 2016.
Among the bigger launches and events, the Tech Drinks has become an essential part of the regular Silicon Canal events calendar. It provides a unique opportunity for tech businesses and individuals to network in a comfortable and social environment.
In April, Silicon Canal hosted one of its biggest Tech Drinks events to date in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery quarter. The Button Factory was the perfect background environment to host the event.
The monthly Tech drinks promotes two of Silicon Canal’s core goals in a social, friendly and welcoming environment.
Jodie Cook, MD of JC Social Media:
“I look forward to Tech Drinks every month, it’s a great place to talk through ideas and meet the people who are doing amazing things in Birmingham’s tech scene.”
This month was the biggest to date and you can see from the pictures below, it really is a great opportunity to connect and promote in a social environment. Many new connections and friendships were forged on the night and of course plenty of fun.
The Tech drinks are held on the first Thursday of every month and is open to everyone. If you would like to sign up to the next Tech Drinks, you can sign up via our Meetup page and we look forward to seeing you at the next on May 4th 2017.
