Join us for the April 2019 edition of Maker Monday, our monthly slice of inspiration from the creative and tech worlds. Our speakers this month:
Thom Bartley is a high profile Birmingham based portrait, fashion, event and commercial photographer. His clients include Google, TEDx, Birmingham Design Festival and some of the biggest modelling agencies in the country. He uses a camera to tell stories, grow movements, and capture events.
Muhammed Ali standing over a defeated Sonny Liston, the Afghan girl with piercing green eyes, Che Guevara looking off camera. What is it about these photos that have enabled them to have such a lasting impact on the world? What is it that makes them great? Thom will be inviting us to look at some of the “greatest” photos of all time and figure out what it is about them that makes them so powerful so they can take this knowledge away with them so regardless of whether they’re a professional photographer or someone who just wants to take nicer photos of their kids on holiday they can make their own photos that little bit greater too.
Adam Woodall (@adam2070), Organiser of the 3Dmeetup.uk (18th & 19th of May) and Maker Monday regular will be giving an early sneak peek of one of the 3dmeetup.uk workshops. He will be talking about 3d Scanning with photogrammetry the process of stitching multiple photographs taken from different angles into a 3D model. A few years ago this was difficult now with free software it is something anyone can have a go at with the camera they already own.
More speakers to be announced imminently.
As always, we will keep the inspiration flowing (the first drink is on us) and food.
Places are limited and will go fast and booking is essential.
