If you didn’t already know, Birmingham’s School of Code is running a free, immersive, 16-week Bootcamp! The course is taking 20 people from complete beginners to fully-fledged programmers, as well as helping them find exciting career opportunities afterward (this is where you come in – see below).

The aim is to get more and different types of people into technology, and show that cool things are happening in Birmingham! In doing this, School of Code hopes to open coding up to more people, showing that everyone can benefit from the growing tech industry. Responding to the current reality that there are 125,000 unfilled tech jobs in the UK every year, the Bootcamp aims to equip its recruits with the skills that industry needs!

After receiving 300 applications from a huge variety of backgrounds, with a near 50:50 gender split and ages ranging from 18-60, they have chosen their final Bootcamp recruits. With the intention of taking 16 people, the group of finalists was so strong that they accepted 20 individuals on to the Bootcamp – you can meet them all on the 26th Sept!

We need your help

Silicon Canal is behind Chris and the team at School of Code and their success is the ecosystems success. So we want to make sure in 20 weeks time when the bootcamp ends these 20 graduates have jobs to go to.

If you are an employer and have a position for a bootcamp graduate, then the team would love to hear from you now. If you engage now you can watch the progress of the candidates over the course.

Come to the Launch event at iCentrum, Innovation Birmingham Campus 26th Sept 12pm – 1pm for lunch and networking, as well as the opportunity to hear from School of Code, the Bootcamp sponsors, and the recruits themselves! REGISTER HERE
