Week commencing 12th of June is the BBC Birmingham Digital Cities Week & Thursday June 15th is Silicon Canal day. We have a number of activities organised for our day including Tech Business Expo & Summer BBQ (details to follow soon).
We are also hosting the inaugural ‘sink or swim’ startup pitch on a canal boat, organised by the Investment in tech working group. This provides the opportunity for 5 investment ready startups to pitch to a small group of investors on a 30 min Canal boat journey from the ICC to the Mailbox and back. The good news is the startups have a captive audience for 15 mins (unless the investors want to swim to escape your pitch), they have a 3 minute pitch followed by 10 minutes of questions.
We are looking for tech startups who are investment ready (product launched, revenue generating) and looking to raise between £50k & £500k. In the lead up to the event the team at Entreprenurial-Spark, powered by Natwest are also hosting a number of investment ready practice pitch sessions to help startups prepare for the pitch (17th May for Pitch Development and 1st June for a Piranha Pit). There is no charge for the training or pitching and no fees will be taken from any investment raised (it’s all free).
If you are interested in pitching then you can apply here – sink or swim application.
