As 2020 races towards us and we prepare for our big ‘Re-ignite’ Campaign many things are changing for Silicon Canal. One massive change is that our wonderful community engagement officer (or CEO as she prefers) Molly Thompson is moving on.

Molly has been an integral part of Silicon Canal over the past two years. Her effervescence, enthusiasm and sheer bloody-minded optimism has made her the beating heart of the Birmingham Tech Community. Everyone knows Molly and Molly has done her best to support, promote and connect everyone in the ecosystem.

You can’t be a community engagement officer forever though. Molly wants to be an actual CEO one day and it’s time for her to start that journey. As scary as that can be we have every confidence in our pink haired friend and we hope that everyone in the Silicon Canal community will give Molls buckets of support.

As sad as we are that Molly is leaving us that doesn’t mean that she’s disappearing! Molly wants to build her career in the Birmingham tech scene so we’re pretty sure she’ll still be around for a long time to come.
